|2014 ESTATE PINOT NOIR
||The 2014 Estate Grown Pinot Noir is a true expression of our viticulture practices that are uniquely cutting edge. Dijon clones planted on a gentle sloping, southern exposed vineyard block, with a naturally enriched limestone soil, makes for what we think is one of the finest Pinot vineyards on the East Coast.
||The 2014 growing season led to ripening conditions that were near perfect for the Pinot Noir. Hand harvested in early September, the fruit was de-stemmed and gently crushed to open top stainless steel fermenters. Inoculated with a Burgundian strain of yeast, the “on the skin” fermentation lasted for 8 days until just the right amount of tannin extraction occurred.
||After pressing the wine settled for just 24 hours before being racked to a combination of new and one-year hand crafted French Oak barrels. In true Burgundy style, the wine aged undisturbed for 18 months in the French Oak.
||Polished, round and engaging for its black cherry, spice and earthy aromas, this well-crafted wine shows a delicate medium ruby color.
||A fuller style of Pinot with more structure and density. The brilliantly focused fruit enticingly lingers on the long, harmonious finish.
